For the final week of World Landscape Architecture Month we are featuring Myra Bradwell Space to Grow Schoolyard.💧🌱

Located in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood, the schoolyard showcases the a vibrant transformation of an underutilized asphalt lot into a dynamic landscape for play, learning, and community life.

From active play to ecological learning, the space invites connection, exploration, and community pride. At the heart of the play space, stormwater becomes both infrastructure and narrative through an interactive “water journey” that traces the water cycle across the site, fostering environmental awareness through play.
