An Architect and Studio Director at Site Design Group, Mejay Gula leads landscape architecture, urban design, and community planning projects that center collaboration, equity, and meaningful public engagement. She develops innovative engagement strategies that build trust and elevate community voices, believing that design rooted in active listening creates places that foster belonging, resilience, and long-term stewardship.

Beyond her work at Site Design Group, Mejay is the founder of the Tender House Project, an initiative dedicated to preserving and activating Chicago's historic bridgehouses as community assets. Working in partnership with the City and local organizations, she envisions these overlooked structures as a connected network of civic and cultural spaces that strengthen neighborhoods and reconnect communities to the Chicago River.

Mejay serves on the boards of the Chicago Architectural Club and the McCormick Bridgehouse Museum and is committed to advancing an inclusive design practice and creating environments where people feel valued, heard, and empowered to shape the future of their communities.
