Johann (Hans) Friedl is a Horticultural Specialist on the Design Team at Site Design Group, where he integrates sustainable planting strategies into complex urban environments. He holds a Master of Landscape Architecture and Urbanism from the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he now teaches the LA525/526 Design Media course sequence. 

Hans brings a multidisciplinary background spanning international urban development, landscape design, and project management. A former Garden Club of America fellow, his research has focused on preserving legacy trees across the United States. 

Outside of work, you can find Hans playing his old fiddle, running around the lakefront, or trying to learn Japanese.
