The 1901 Project at the United Center reimagines 39.9 acres on Chicago’s West Side as a vibrant, connected public realm surrounding the iconic home of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks. Rooted in community, culture, and nature, the development will transform the district into an inviting destination for residents and visitors alike.

At the heart of the vision is a network of walkable, people-first spaces that prioritize accessibility, comfort, and connection. A central public park, featuring expansive green space, recreational amenities, and a signature walking path celebrating Chicago’s rich legacy in sports and music, anchors the development and creates opportunities for gathering and recreation.

Working alongside RIOS, the project’s master planner, architect, and urban designer, as well as Field Operations, the co-landscape architect, we are helping shape a landscape that reflects Chicago’s dynamic identity while responding to community aspirations for inclusive, welcoming, and meaningful public space.
