The West Garfield Park Community Plaza and Roller Rink transformed an empty lot into a vibrant community hub for youth and teens. The Roller Rink, which opened in 2021, was the first phase of the project to be built. Currently, the site is being converted into a permanent plaza as part of the Mayor's Neighborhood Activation Initiative. Once completed, the plaza will feature a stage, designated seating areas, a cozy hangout corner, an engaging play space, and captivating art installations.
