site worked with the Trust for Public Land on the Under the Grid WACA Bell Park project, located in North Lawndale, adjacent to the CTA Pink Line. This project aims to create a sustainable community destination for North Lawndale residents, where expression, conservation, and education can emerge. Site programming includes a retail marketspace with public art, a basketball court, an active play space, a performance stage, seating and gathering areas, and an art and play loop, featuring a group mural with creative play elements.
WACA Bell Park is one of the first projects in Under the Grid, an initiative using public art to revitalize 15 blocks between the Pulaski and Kedzie neighborhoods. The project was a recipient of a 2022 Public Outdoor Plaza (POP!) grant from the City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development.
