As part of the Chicago Public Schools’ Space to Grow initiative, the James Wadsworth Elementary School’s STEM academy play and learning lot combines education, fitness, and creative play for Pre-K through Eight grade students. The play yard reimagined a small playground set within a large parking lot into an innovative playground designed for creative play, along with a recreational field and running track. The play yard features vibrant colors, contrasting materials, and sustainable design elements.
