This collaborative garden design with the National Audubon Society, the Women’s Journey in Fiber, and the Chicago Flower and Garden Show is an educational, immersive design that is based on the native habitats of migratory birds. The garden exhibits four distinct habitats along the Mississippi Flyway; Tundra, Prairie, Woodland, and Marsh. An accessible path guides visitors through a landscape that varies in height, color, texture, and plant species, illustrating the kind of environments birds would encounter on their journey from North to South. The goal of the garden is to help raise awareness of the habitat, migration patterns, and conservation challenges of selected priority species.
