Located in the historic Fulton Market District, 1K Fulton is a state-of-the-art LEED certified office and retail building. The transformation of the building provides a bike-friendly, transit-friendly, and sustainable mixed-use development. site design group, ltd. (site), in conjunction with the Harthshorne Plunkard Architecture and Sterling Bay Companies, designed a large welcoming public plaza at the ground floor featuring reused elevator wheels from the building’s cold storage past, as well as an intensively landscaped roof garden with a barbecue area, conference table shaded by a trellis, and textural plantings and grasses throughout.
