The redevelopment of the largest outdoor athletic complex in the Chicago Public School system has created a community centerpiece of ownership and pride. Coordinated baseball and softball fields, numerous soccer fields and a state-of-the-art baseball stadium complete a master plan that has been embraced by the community at large.
This fully developed complex is complete with a new concession building, fully irrigated fields and state-of-the-art lighting. Tree-lined walkways that functionally traverse through the park are enhanced with park benches. Plaza spaces and a sculpted berm provide bleacher-like seating and congregation areas for the adjoining schools.
This long-awaited complex has been at the forefront of the northwest side community’s vision that transforms a declining open field of piecemeal diamonds into a tree-lined sports complex.
