The planning and landscape development for this HOPE VI project has served as a model for public housing redevelopments throughout the country. Based on a planning concept of providing rental and for-sale housing, the sixteen acre site was redeveloped as the largest public housing development in Peoria, Illinois.
The central focus of the development is a five acre park, surrounded by sensitive streetscape elements and a 15,000 sq. ft. community center. The project has enabled this community to realize a transformation of their site into a safe and beautiful neighborhood of choice.
