The interior architecture for a Thai restaurant in the DePaul Music Mart building of Chicago’s downtown features backlit fabric waves in the ceiling alluding to the colors and textures of Thailand. The development of a scheme for 80 seats within 5,000 square feet of dining space provided numerous challenges.
The final design resulted in function circulation, a sense of openness and intimate seating areas. The success of this restaurant design is based on elaborate lighting schemes, color and texture, as the ambience blends effortlessly with the functionality of the restaurant operations.
Scope of work included complete architecture and engineering design, construction documents and on-site construction observation.
