Located in Chicago’s famous Bridgeport neighborhood, the campus park evolved from the demolition of two full blocks of dilapidated housing.
The creation of athletic fields, prairie gardens and a variety of playgrounds serve as a neighborhood enclave and park space for two Chicago Public School buildings.
One of the highlights of the park initiative is a “peace garden” that addresses neighborhood conflicts. Playgrounds of different age groups provide a variety of skill level play. The community has embraced this public park space as an asset to the neighborhood revitalization process.
